MARIB, Sept. 12 (YPA) – Informed sources revealed that three turbines have stopped working in gas pressure at the oil company Safar in Marib, which is carrying out the tasks of re-injecting gas into ground wells.
The sources said on Wednesday, the stop of working at the gas company Safar gas was because of the lack of regular maintenance and a number of the company’s equipment that became operating outside its lifetime.
They added that the suspension of turbines led to the burning of large quantities of gas produced on a daily basis, which aggravated the risk of polluting the environment and threatened the entire safety of the company and the continuity of production.
The sources confirmed that about 300 to 400 million cubic feet of gas are burned daily as a result of the failure of these three turbines while a full-blowr produces about one billion cubic feet of gas per day, he said.
More than 400 oil and gas wells in the Safar fields is active and is currently working in the treasury of Islah militias, which controlled Marib during the four years of aggression against Yemen, the sources added.
