IED explodes near pro-UAE commander’s home in Lahj

LAHJ, July 27 (YPA) – An improvised explosive device (IED) exploded on Friday evening near a house of a military commander in the so-called Al-Mehdhar Brigade loyal to the UAE occupation in Lahj province, southern Yemen.

According to sources, the explosion took place near the home of Sameer Hanash al-Hawshabi, a leader in ranks of the UAE-backed southern transitional council, in Saber area in Lahj.

The sources speculated that the attack on al-Hawshabi, commander of fourth battalion in Al-Mehdhar Brigade, has been organized by leaders opposed to him in the government of exiled Hadi.
