FM stresses importance of Hodeidah port in alleviating Yemenis’ suffering

SANAA, July 6 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Saturday stressed the vital significance of the port of Hodeidah in alleviating Yemeni people’s human suffering, which is the largest human-made tragedy in the modern era.

During his meeting with UNDP technical team to support and develop the port of Hodeidah, Sharaf emphasized the importance of the international actors’ contribution to the development of the port’s work.

The Minister confirmed the national authorities’ readiness to provide all facilities for the success of the team’s work and create conditions for the rehabilitation program, which would have an important role in raising the port’s operational efficiency and increasing its capacity, especially in the handling of containers of different types.

The UNDP experts expressed appreciation for the cooperation of the National Salvation Government, affirming the team’s keenness on exerting all efforts to develop the work of the port and improve and expand its operational capabilities.
