$132 M losses of road transport sector due to bombing of Saudi-led coalition

SANAA, June 28 (YPA) – Material loss and damage of road transport sector as a result of Saudi-led coalition systematic targeting over a four-year period, amount to more than 132 million dollars, according to a report issued by the Land Transport Regulatory Authority.

According to a report obtained by the Yemeni news Agency Saba, “the damage and losses occurred by the Head Office and the headquarters of its branches and land ports from the bombing of the aggression amounted to 6 million dollars, despite being civilian facilities, criminalized by international law to be targeted.”

“The estimated cost of road transport losses of the private sector, which was directly targeted by the aggression, amounted to more than $90 million, including trucks transporting goods, transporting fuel, buses and passenger cars,” the Land Transport Regulatory Authority said in its report..

According to the report, the Saudi attacks have targeted 2514 means of transport and goods, 274 trucks and fuel transports, 1405 passenger transports and a student bus in the market of Dahyan in Saada province, leaving dozens of dead and wounded.

The Authority was able to overcome the difficulties imposed by the aggression on the land transport sector, by developing plans and policies to address the damage after studying the reality of the sector as well as training and rehabilitating cadres technically, professionally and administratively during the period 2016-2019, the report added.
