Planning Minister meets UNICEF Representative in Yemen

SANAA, June 25 (YPA) – Minister of Planning and International Cooperation in the National Salvation Government Abdulaziz al-Komim met on Tuesday in Sanaa with UNICEF Resident Representative Sara Nyanti.

The meeting discussed the cooperation between Yemen and UNICEF and means of enhancing it in order to alleviate the current catastrophic situation, as well as the organization’s support for providing humanitarian needs.

In the meeting, al-Komim indicated to the effects of the aggression and the war imposed on the Yemeni people, including the destruction of the basic infrastructure and the severe tragedy the aggression has left in full view of the world and international and human rights organizations.

The Minister confirmed the government’s keenness to enhance the positive elements of humanitarian activity and overcome the difficulties facing it.

For her part, Nyanti affirmed that UNICEF’s would continue supporting Yemen in the areas of relief and financial assistance for social security cases, noting to the complex conditions currently facing the Yemeni people and the difficult humanitarian situation.
