Update 1: Ministry of Health: At least 58 dead and wounded in Saudi airstrike on residential areas in Sanaa

SANAA, May 16 (YPA) – The death toll from the Saudi-led aggression’s air strikes on a residential neighborhood at the intersection of Rabat and Raqas streets in downtown Sana’a has risen to 58 dead and wounded, official spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Yousef Al-Hadari, said in a statement on Thursday.

He said that the rescue operations and the recovery of victims are continuing until this moment, pointing out that the victims of the coalition airstrikes were being transferred to a number of hospitals in the capital.

At least six people were killed and dozens wounded, including children and women, following the coalition air strike targeting houses in the intersection.

The coalition aircraft launched a series of raids on the capital Sana’a this morning, including three raids on Atan district, three raids on Noqm district behind the Movenpick Hotel and two others targeting an area behind the Qatari embassy in the same district, while launching two raids on the Nahdeen area as well as launching an airstrike on the September 21 Park in Al-Thwarh district.

In the rest of the province of Sana’a, the coalition launched 8 raids on the camps of Freijah and Al-Sa’ma military camps, tow other air strikes on Beit Drahah military camp in Arahb district and a raid on the camp of Arqub in Khawlan district.

In over four years, the coalition has used its aggression against Yemen to commit crimes and to target civilians, especially after every painful blow it receives at the hands of the Yemeni army and its Popular Committees.
