Penultimate phase of general election in India kicks off

SANAA, May 12 (YPA) – The penultimate phase of the Indian general election, in which Indian  voters lined up in New Delhi and other northern parts of the country, kicked off on Sunday, Reuters said

According to Reuters, the last stage of the general election is underway in seven stages, where the opposition seeking a unified stance to prevent Prime Minister Narendra Modi from winning a second term.

More than 100 million people in seven states have the right to vote in the sixth phase of the 39-day electoral process, which begins on April 11, April as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the most fortunate to win after mounting tension with Pakistan.

The vote will be counted on May 23, while some voters in Delhi said they support Modi’s admiration for his tough stance on security.

Political analysts said the regional parties may play a crucial role in determining the shape of the next government after The Bharatiya Janata Party was affected by the lack of new jobs and poor prices for agricultural products.

Over the past few weeks, verbal attacks have been witnessing between the leaders, including comments from Modi about the family of the Congress party’s Rahul Gandhi.
