FM discusses with UNHCR Office cooperation aspects

SANAA, March 24 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Sunday discussed with Acting Resident Representative of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Yemen aspects of cooperation and coordination between the Ministry and the Office of UNHCR.

The meeting dealt with various tasks and activities of the UNHCR in Yemen, as well as the possibility of increasing humanitarian support for internally displaced persons (IDPs).

In the meeting, Sharaf touched on conditions of Yemeni citizens stranded in some countries of the region due to the blockade imposed on Yemen by Saudi-led aggression coalition countries and armed groups loyal to them in the occupied areas.

The minister confirmed that the National Salvation Government is keen to facilitate the work of the UNHCR Office and all humanitarian organizations and programs in accordance with the governing national regulations in the country.
