Huge fire breaks out in Najaf province southwestern Iraq

SANAA, March 17 (YPA) – A huge fire broke out in Najaf province on Sunday, an Iraqi security source said.

“A fire broke out in the early morning in stores to sell plastic materials and spare cars in Al-Artisans neighborhood in the industrial zone south of Najaf,” the source told al-Sumaria News Agency.

“The fire brigade of firefighters in Najaf is fighting the blaze,” said the source on condition of anonymity, adding that “the reasons for the outbreak have not yet been known.”

A number of Iraqi provinces are witnessing several fires, particularly in the state and commercial markets, while the majority of the Civil defence team said that the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit.
