Coalition-backed militias suffer heavy losses in Jawf, Lahj

JAWF, LAHJ, March 2 (YPA) – Militias loyal to Saudi-led coalition on Saturday suffered human losses in their ranks during clashes with the Yemeni army forces on the combat fronts in Jawf and Lahj provinces.

A military official in Lahj said that several members of the militias were killed and other injured in an ambush with an explosive device set by the engineering unit of the army in Karish front.

In Jawf, a military source said that the army’s artillery unit shelled gatherings of the coalition militias in al-Motoon complex and in al-Saqiyah front, inflecting heavy losses on them.

On Friday, the army forces carried out an offensive against positions of the coalition militias in al-Maslob district, as well as an ambush targeted the militias during an infiltration attempt toward Ham front, which resulted in several dead and wounded in ranks of the militias and losses in their military gear.
