Deputy Foreign Minister embarrasses UN, Coalition

SANAA, Feb. 25 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister in the National Salvation Government, Hussein al-Izzi has disclosed reasons for the delay in implementing the Sweden agreement, and presenting an initiative to the United Nations to solve obstacles impeding the implementation of its first phase.

“Riyadh-backed delegation is raising difficulties in a bid to impose its regression on the agreement of the first phase of the Sweden agreement,” Deputy Foreign Minister Hussein al-Izzi wrote on his Twitter account on Sunday.

Hussein al-Izzi went on to talk about the reasons for the delay in the implementation of the first phase of the Sweden agreement on Hodeidah, saying that Riyadh-backed exploits the UN’s concern over its obstruction and its adoption of approach of convergence.

“We hope the United Nations will not respond to any reversal of what has been agreed,” Hussein al-Izzi addressed the United Nations, its envoy and its Committee of Observers.

He offered an initiative to the United Nations to resolve the stalled implementation of the agreement, saying: “We are ready for a unilateral executive step immediately at the request of the United Nations.”
