UAE-Backed militias accuse Hashim al-Ahmar of smuggling crude oil from Shabwah

SHABWAH, Feb. 23 (YPA) -The Emirati occupation militias in Shabwah province have on Friday detained six oil derivative carriers and placed its drivers in one of its prisons on charges of smuggling crude oil from the province,  local sources told Yemen Press Agency.

The commander of the so-called Sixth Military Zone (which is loyal to the Saudi-led coalition), Hashim al-Ahmar, called on Hadi’s governor to release the drivers, carriers and cargo due to the reason that he knows them personally.

A document obtained by the Yemeni press Agency, issued by Hashim al-Ahmar’s office on February 17, confirmed that the drivers are “known to us”. This likely means that they belong to the mercenary gangs led by Al-Ahmar.

The drivers were physically assaulted inside the prison of the Emirati occupation militia in the province, according to the sources.

It is clear that the UAE-backed militias unloaded the tanker load and forced the drivers to sign a ledger without knowing its contents.

The militias accused the tanker drivers of smuggling large quantities of crude oil stolen from a pipeline in Shabwah. Ironically, the oil pipeline is under Emirati control, which means that no matter what, the Yemeni oil would be smuggled illegally but in this case for the profit of UAE occupiers.

The Emirati occupation militia, known as the Elite Forces, have recently taken control of the oil fields in the area, burnt two oil tankers in Shabwah and prevented the exiled Hadi and Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar forces from protecting the oil sectors back in January, in a clear case of the infighting of coalition forces and  militants
