UN envoy Griffith praises Salvation’s government’s support for peace

SANAA, Feb. 18 (YPA) – The Special Envoy of UN Secretary-General Martin Griffith praised the efforts of the President of the Supreme Political Council Mahdi Al-Mashat and his support for the success of the Hodeidah Agreement.

“There is international interest to bring peace to Yemen and moving forward with the implementation of the Swedish agreement,” Griffith said when he met al-mashat on Sunday in Sanaa.

Martin Griffith, who met also on Sunday with Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, stressed his keenness to “hold close negotiations” on the general framework for peace in Yemen.

Griffith stressed, in the meeting, the redeployment as soon as possible in accordance with the plan of the head of the Coordination Committee and redeployment in Hodeidah.

The special envoy of UN Secretary-General Martin Griffith, who is carrying out a new visit to the capital Sana’a, praised the efforts of the prisoners’ committee and its success in this humanitarian issue.
