Mohammad al-Houthi speaks on 2011 February Revolution anniversary

SANAA, Feb. 12 (YPA) -Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, head of the Supreme Revolutionary Committee, has launched a verbal attack against those who betrayed the February 11 revolution of 2011, and “stood up against it.”

He described these people describing them as “mercenaries” and “agents for those abroad” who sold their slogans for Gulf money.

“There is no way to compare those who sell the country with the free National Revolutionary forces,” he added.

In a statement issued on Monday to mark the 8th anniversary of the February Revolution, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, said that “the Yemeni people’s revolution of 11 February 2011 represented a manifestation of the will of liberation of the Yemeni people, and their rejection of injustice and tyranny.

It looked forward to the opening of a new chapter in its history entitled “Dignity, justice, sovereignty, independence and stability”, the statement read.

“The enemies at home and abroad hastened the path of the revolution from the rebellious masses,” it added.
Mohammed al-Houthi noted to the steadfastness of the Yemeni people in the face of the plots.

“The enemies, the dark forces, have climbed on the shoulders of the revolutionaries in order to carry out their authoritarian ambitions by reproducing the tyrannical regime and entrenching foreign guardianship, by providing restorative solutions in order to reproduce a governance administration that brings together the parties loyal to the former regime,” the statement added.

“These powers have jumped over all demands, foundations, laws and the Constitution, an initiative that has been launched in Yemen by ten countries to circumvent the objectives of the revolution. The revolution calls for consolidation of democracy and freedom” al-Houthi said.

“With the blessing of their agents from the forces that our people revolted against, and rejecting all the steps that these countries and powers have taken instead of listening to the voice of the revolutionaries, they continue to handcuff the country.”

“On the eighth anniversary of the start of the popular revolution [of February 2011], it is clear that anyone who has stood against it or tried to circumven it  have killed children and women, and targeted objects of civil and international humanitarian law, and committed war crimes deliberately.”

The Supreme Revolutionary Council chief noted that “in the face of all these plots, the rebellious people of Yemen have not discouraged their free sons and tribes from continuing the momentum of popular support in their Blessed revolution and in their revolutionary movement, making sacrifices and filling the squares with the roar of slogans that express their aspirations in a state that is in the citizens’ service and in which the protection of the people is at the center of its policy and highest objectives. ”

“The Yemeni people continue to fight the battle for the homeland, in the fourth year in the face of aggression and mercenary projects, which have gone to deceive some with money and deceptive tactics to fight for the invader instead of defending the homeland,” said the Supreme Revolutionary Committee chairman Mohamed Ali al-Houthi in his statement.

He added: “O revolutionaries, your revolution came, and you still progress risking all that is precious and valuable in order to defend your people and to expel the invaders and occupiers and to defend, secure and support the army and security services with pride.”

“Continue to supplement the fronts with the best men, and meet the national and faithful appeal of the Leader of the Revolution  by entrusting to Allah Almighty and arming ourselves with consciousness and revolutionary sense, our people will triumph, with God’s permission.”
