Turkey competes with UAE and Saudi Arabia in Yemen’s southern provinces

MAHRAH, Jan. 28 (YPA) -The exiled Hadi regime Minister of Transport has arrived at Ghadah airport in the occupied province of al-Mahrah, aboard a Turkish commercial plane, media outlet reported on Sunday.

Observers said that the arrival of the Minister of Transport through a Turkish plane to Mahrah province is a sign of a strong Turkish competition for the UAE and Saudi occupation in the southern provinces.

They stressed that Islah Party has begun to penetrate in the southern provinces through the Turkish Red Crescent and Turkish humanitarian organizations, which began to compete strongly with the UAE-based Red Crescent in the city of Aden.

According to the observers, they considered that the Islah party wing in the coalition-backed government has many political designs, planning to restore political activity in a number of southern governorates.

The inauguration of the first flights from Aden airport to Ghadah airport, which will take place three times a week, marks the breaking of the air embargo on the airport of Mahrah capital of Ghadah, which earlier had been transformed into a military base by Saudi occupiers.

The fact that the breaking of the embargo was done by a Turkish airline company signals a possible increase of Turkish activity in Yemen’s south.

The Turkish government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan is known for its close relations to the international Muslim Brotherhood, of which the Islah party is the Yemeni wing.
