Women demand to know their relatives’ fate in UAE secret prisons in Aden

ADEN, March 18 (YPA) – Women in Yemen’s southern port city of Aden on Sunday demanded to know fate of their relatives, who are detained and forcibly disappeared in secrets prisons of Saudi and Emirati occupation forces in the southern provinces.

This came during a vigil held by the detainees’ mothers in front of the house of the so-called “Interior Minister in government of exiled resigned president Abd Rabbu Mansour Hadi.

The women reiterated their urgent demand for the disclosure of the fate of their detained relatives, who were incarcerated in the private prisons of the UAE-Saudi occupation forces, since three years.

They handed over a letter to Hadi’s interior minister from the Attorney-General containing lifting of the detainees’ files to judicial bodies in accordance with the law.

This comes at a time while there are more than 19,000 detainees in the UAE and Saudi prisons in some southern provinces and 17 secret prisons, according to human rights organizations.
