COCA discusses report on imbalances in Endowments Ministry

SANAA, Dec. 16 (YPA) – The Central Organization for Control and Auditing (COCA) on Sunday discussed in a meeting held in Sanaa its report No. (70) dated October 29,2018, on some imbalances in Ministry of Endowments and Guidance.

At the meeting, attended by Deputy Minister of Endowments and Guidance Fuad Naji, President of COCA Ali al-Emad stressed the importance of cooperation in reforming the imbalances in some aspects of the work contained in the report.

Al-Emad pointed out that there is systematic targeting of Waqf funds, whether by persons or the public sector, which necessitates taking serious and strict measures to preserve the funds and property of the ministry in general and funds of endowments in particular.

He confirmed the organization’s readiness to support and help in this aspect, and that the ministry should consider this report as an opportunity to improve its performance and avoid mistakes, especially with the availability of political will and support for anti-corruption efforts.

For his part, Naji said that what is mentioned in the report would help the ministry in improving its conditions and reforming and addressing the imbalances.

The attendees agreed to prepare a matrix containing the responses and proposed treatments with a time-bound mechanism for implementation.
