Arab activists accuse Bahrain’s foreign minister of standing with Israel

SANAA, Dec. 16 (YPA) –Bahraini Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed’s comments on Australian recognition of West Jerusalem as the capital of Israel sparked angry and indignant reactions.

“Australia’s position would not affect the legitimate Palestinian demands, the first of which is East Jerusalem, the capital of Palestine.” the Bahraini foreign minister said in a tweet.

“The decision is not in the same way as the Arab Peace Initiative, and the Arab League knows that very well,” he said, criticizing its condemnation of the Australian Declaration.

The activists attacked the Bahraini minister’s statements, considering that he is lining up alongside the Israeli occupation.
