Yemenis views differ on results of Sweden talks between pessimistic, optimistic

SANAA, Dec. 15 (YPA) – The views of Yemenis regarding the results of the consultations recently concluded in Sweden have differed between pessimistic and optimistic, as the military escalation continued on most fronts.
a
Activists and observers attributed this to the fact that the results that emerged from the consultations did not meet the aspirations of the Yemeni street, although some others considered that the consultations contributed to part of the solution that may precipitate an end to the war.

However, the majority had hoped that the consultations would provide urgent solutions to the difficult economic and humanitarian conditions and that the halt to the military escalation would not be limited to certain cities.

While some popular circles considered the consultations a good step towards bringing peace, others believe that they have not met their aspirations and ambitions to find a solution to the economic crisis they are experiencing.

The limitation of cease-fire to certain areas was met with indignation by some who hoped that there would be a complete cessation of all military operations and opening of the crossings.

Yemenis are concerned about the lack of commitment of Hadi’ party to the prisoner exchange and truce in the province of Hodeidah, because it does not possess the decision.
Observers called on the parties to the conflict to be loyal to the homeland and show further seriousness in the coming meetings to bring peace and a comprehensive stability ending the suffering of Yemenis.
