Shura discusses repercussions of war, siege on national economy

SANAA, Dec. 15 (YPA) – The Shura Council on Saturday discussed the repercussions of the war and siege on the national economy and their implications for food security.

In the meeting chaired by the council’s acting speaker Mohammed al-Aidaros, the efforts made by Ministry of Industry and Trade and executive procedures to maintain the provision of foodstuffs and price stability were reviewed.

Al-Aidaros praised the ministry’s efforts to protect the rights and interests of consumers and curb any unjustifiable increase in commodity prices.

He said that the political leadership, represented by the Supreme Political Council and the National Salvation Government, is keen to alleviate the suffering of citizens as a result of the continuing war and siege imposed on the country by Saudi-led coalition.
