Human Rights Minister honors ICRC mission in Yemen

SANAA, Nov. 25 (YPA) – Ministry of Human Rights on Sunday honored the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) mission for its humanitarian and human rights role in Yemen during the past period.

In the honoring ceremony, Minister of Human Rights Alya Abdullatif praised sacrifices and humanitarian efforts of the mission and its staff to alleviate the suffering of Yemenis, the latest of which was the death of Hanna in Taiz province.

“The ministry will honor every international organization that has helped Yemen, especially during the ongoing aggression and unjust siege,” Abdullatif said.

She appreciated the ICRC’s role in dealing with the file of prisoners, as well as its activities and programs carried out during the last period, confirming the ministry’s readiness to facilitate the Committee’s tasks to help Yemenis.

For his part, Head of the ICRC mission explained that the conflict and victims are the reason for the presence of the mission in Yemen, and that the ICRC’s activities and programs aim to help those victims.
