HRW calls France to stop selling weapons to UAE

SANAA, Nov. 21 (YPA) – Human Rights Watch (HRW) on Wednesday called on France to stop selling weapons to United Arab Emirates (UAE) committing war crimes in Yemen, in a statement said.

“If president of France Emmanuel Macron wants to tackle Yemen’s crisis, he has to tell Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan of the UAE that France will stop selling weapons,” the statement added.

The statement said the UAE has been playing a prominent role in the Saudi-led coalition’s military operations in Yemen since March 2015, that indiscriminately bombed homes, markets, and schools, impeded the delivery of humanitarian aid.

“Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan of the UAE will visit Paris on November 21, 2018,” it added.
