Calls to stop war in Yemen create glimmer of hope to Yemeni children: Unicef

SANAA, Nov. 17 (YPA) – The United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) said  the increasing calls to stop war and resuming political peace talks in Yemen have created  a glimmer of hope to Yemeni children.

In a statement issued on Friday, Unicef Executive Director Henrietta Fore said at least 6,000 children have been killed or seriously injured during more than three years from the conflict, while 11 million need humanitarian assistance to survive.

“The  Security Council stresses the importance of resuming the Yemeni political talks within the coming weeks, calling on the parties to go towards a lasting peace settlement,” Fore added.
