CPJ appeals to UAE to release Yemeni journalist ‘Kashmim”

SANAA, Feb. 27 (YPA) – The International Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) on Tuesday called for releasing the Yemeni journalist Awad Kashmim, who was arrested by armed factions loyal to the UAE occupation forces.
The UAE-backed militias detained Kashmim after he criticized their actions on the ground and their mock campaign against the so-called Al Qaeda.
In a statement issued on Monday, the CPJ said Kashmim was arrested on Wednesday in Hadramout’s provincial city of Mukala, eastern Yemen, and he is held at the headquarters of the UAE military intelligence in the city.
