The rules of the political game will be completely changed: Syrian President al-Assad

SANAA, Oct. 4 (YPA) – Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on Wednesday announced the end of the war in his country, stressing that the rules of the political game will be completely changed.

“Many Western countries are planning and preparing to reopen their embassies in Damascus, and there are Western and Arab delegations that have begun to come in order to return,” the Syrian president told the Kuwaiti daily Al-Shahid Newspaper.

“Very soon the curtain will be unveiled on this terrorist war, and the political game is changing,” Assad said.

The Syrian president said his country would return to its “pivotal role in supporting the Nation’s issues as it was before”.

“We will start rebuilding factories and will rehabilitate and support companies of all kinds and forms, whether local Syrian or joint with Arab and foreign investors,” he  added.

Assad continued: “Our interest in agriculture because the best fruits and vegetables in the region are produced by Syria and we will make sure to export them to all countries of the world.”

It is worthy noting that Syria’s membership in the League of Arab States was suspended in November 2012, and Arab countries imposed economic and political sanctions on Damascus.
