Netherlands stops funding “White Helmets” in Syria

SANAA, Sept. 10 (YPA) – Syrian opposition and the White Helmets organization will not receive funding from abroad, Dutch News reported on Monday.

Dutch Government’s decision came after it found that the opposition strategy is ineffective, the news outlet added.

“Dutch support for the opposition (the rebels) has ‘not met the desired effects”, the foreign ministry said at a press conference, adding that a military victory by Assad’s forces is inevitable.

It added that “the Netherlands will continue to support Syria’s neighboring countries which have also been hit by the conflict.

It also said earlier that Washington had allocated $ 6.6 million dollars to the “White Helmets”, and the UK announced its support for the non-governmental organizations which the Syrian foreign condemned this support.
