Saudi authorities arrest one of hard-liner in Riyadh

SANAA, Aug. 16 (YPA) -Saudi security forces said on Thursday that they were able to thwart  a “terrorist plot for one of the country’s hard-liner intellectuals in Riyadh .”

Security spokesman of the Saudi Interior Ministry revealed that “Fawaz Abdul Rahman Eid al-Harbi, who was prosecuted and detained, was planning to carry out a terrorist act.”

According to the Saudi Press Agency “SPA”, al-Harbi “started to shoot fires towards police the forces when they attempted to arrest him, and then he fled.

The security forces “besieged him in one of the neighborhoods in the province of Bakiriya, forcing him to get out of his car carrying an explosive belt, and he fired heavily, prompting the security forces to respond to his shoots, which lead to his injury, and then he was taken to hospital for treatment”,” the agency said.

According to the security spokesman, “a machine gun and munitions were found with the injured detainee”.
