Deputy FM, ICRC Mission Head discuss cooperation fields

SANAA, July 30 (YPA) – Deputy Foreign Minister, Hussein al-Azzi, on Monday discussed with the new head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in Sana’a, Johannes Breuer, fields of cooperation between Yemen and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

In the meeting, al-Azzi wished the new head of mission success in his mission, praising the efforts made by the former head of mission, Francois Morayon, during his tenure in Yemen.

Al-azzi commended the efforts of the ICRC delegation in the humanitarian field and its continued response to the growing needs of Yemeni people due to the coalition war and the siege imposed.

Al-Azzi confirmed the willingness of the concerned parties to provide all necessary facilities for the ICRC mission to enable it to perform its functions as required.

For his part, Breuer expressed his happiness to be appointed ahead of the mission in Yemen, stressing the obligation of the ICRC delegation to provide all possible support and contribute to addressing the humanitarian situation in Yemen.
