India withdraws citizenship of 4 million people, majority of Muslims

SANAA, July 30 (YPA) – Indian authorities announced on Monday the withdrawal of citizenship from four million people, mainly Bangladeshi-speaking Muslims, in the state of Assam, southeast India.
Director General of Records said that it’s a historic day for Assam and India in general, because they have made an important step in publishing the first full draft of the National Register of Citizens.

The Director added that those not included in the list have a great chance to object and register in the final list.
