Policemen arrest newspaper’s editor-in-chef in Aden

SANAA, July 2 (YPA) – Policemen on Monday arrested  the editor-in-chef of Aden al-Ghad daily newspaper in the southern city of Aden, local media reported.

The policemen in civilian plain clothes arrested Fatehi Ben Lazraq while in his way to the newspaper office in Mansoura district.

The arrest came few hours after Ben Lazraq wrote on his Facebook account a post calling for a mass popular protest to demand local security authorities backed by United Arab Emirates occupation forces in Aden to stop security chaos in the city.

Aden has witnesses major security chaos since UAE occupation forces seized the city in late 2015. The situation has further deteriorated when Saudi-backed exiked Hadi returened to the city two weeks ago, during which Hadi’s militiamen have launched a lrage-scale crackdown against journalists and political activists. Several activests have been arrested since then.
