Yemeni army repels big attacks of coalition in western coast

SANAA, June 14 (YPA) – The Yemeni army on Wednesday repulsed large offensives of Saudi-led coalition forces backed by warplanes in the western coast front, according Defense Ministry in Sanaa.

“All the offensive operations planned by the US-backed Saudi-led coalition to control parts of the western coast and carry out a military landing have failed,” an official at Defense Ministry said in a statment.

The army and popular committees’ fighters inflicted heavy losses in lives and military equipment on the coalition’s forces and its local and foreign mercenaries, he added.

The army and popular committees repelled an attack of the coalition forces reinforced by tens of military vehicles and backed by tens of air raids toward al-Faza area, the official said.

The coalition forces suffered heavy losses and two military vehicles belonging to them were destroyed during the confrontations.

According to the official, two other attacks toward al-Taif, al-Nakhila areas of al-Dureihemi failed, and resulted in dozens of dead and wounds in ranks of the coalition mercenaries, including leaders, in addition to destroying three military vehicles.
