Humanitarian Forum calls for probe into bombing its HQ in Sanaa

SANAA, June 10 (YPA) – The Humnatrin Forum in Yemen called on all local and international organizations to participate in the solidarity stand on Sunday afternoon in Sanaa to denounce the bombing of a building near to Headquarter of the Humanitarian Forum Yemen by Saudi-led coalition warplanes which lead to its destruction entirely.

The forum confirmed that the stand under the slagon “For a safe environment for humanitarian workers”, stressing to neutralize of humanitarian tasks and works from armed conflicts.

Yemen suffers from the famine which considered the worst in the world with more than 21 million Yemenis in desperate need food, and 17 million of them need healthy drinking water.

In a statement obtained by Yemen Press Agency, it said that it is very unfortunate that the humanitarian forum is being destroyed and its headquarters in Sana’a have been destroyed and all its documents and property have been completely damaged.

The warehouses attached to the headquarters, which were full of materials and health assistance, were also damaged, the statement added.

It said that the bombing is a flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2216 and related resolutions to Yemen, and it is a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, and an act that threatens the humanitarian situation in Yemen further and further exacerbates the sufferings of the Yemenis and impedes the work of international organizations.

The forum called on the United Nations, through the international envoy to Yemen and the humanitarian coordinator in Yemen, to open a serious and independent investigation into the incident and to take measures to ensure the safety and security of the humanitarian organizations operating in Yemen.
