Sources reveal new UAE security moves in Socotra

SANAA, Aug. 03 (YPA) – Yemeni sources have revealed new security moves by the UAE in the Yemeni Socotra Archipelago, as part of Abu Dhabi’s plot to control the strategically located island.

The sources said that the UAE established a few days ago a marina for Emirati ships in the port of Olaf on the island of Socotra.

Abu Dhabi had formed a cell of 112 people, a spy cell consisting of local informants with attractive rewards, and distributors in all the residential communities on the island, according to the sources.

The Emirati authorities use humanitarian aid as a cover to perpetuate the occupation of the strategically located island of Socotra in Yemen.

In parallel, the sources monitored the arrival of dozens of female recruits to the airport of Hadibo, the capital of Socotra, coming from Abu Dhabi.

The female soldiers arrived in Socotra, accompanied by Brigadier General in the UAE intelligence, Saeed Al Kaabi, who is leading the implementation of the Abu Dhabi plan in Yemen under the guise of humanitarian action.

Al-Kaabi held a meeting with leaders of the UAE-backed separatist Southern Transitional Council (STC) militias, upon his arrival in Socotra, with the participation of female soldiers in the meeting, which was devoted to review Abu Dhabi’s directives to establish a headquarters for the command of female soldiers, which he called “the headquarters of the Saqr Al-Arab forces.”

For months, the UAE has sent groups of foreign tourists to the Socotra Archipelago, in a flagrant violation of Yemeni sovereignty.

This falls in the midst of unremitting efforts to pay the UAE dirhams and citizenship, with what it sees as tempting the residents of the Socotra Archipelago to submit to the occupation and Emirati hegemony.

Calls are mounting in Yemen to counter the UAE’s plot to change the personal identity of the residents of Socotra.

Abu Dhabi is continuing its efforts to extend its influence and control over the Yemeni island of Socotra, located in the heart of the Indian Ocean, which is considered one of the most important causes of the conflict between the UAE and the Yemeni government.

Observers unanimously agree that the UAE, through its actions and the previous steps and measures, in conjunction with an international media campaign, is approaching the opportunity to separate the island from Yemen and annex it to its territory, as long as the so-called “Yemeni legitimate authorities” do not move by force to stop the UAE from implementing its plan, which is rejected by the island’s residents despite all the temptations.
