Ansarullah Movement: It is impossible to hand over Hodeidah port to UN or others

SANAA, June 6 (YPA) – Deputy Chief of media department of Ansarullah movement, Abdul Qados al-Shahari, said that it is impossible to hand over Hodeidah port, the last outlet for the entry of foodstuffs to the Yemeni people, to the United Nations or to others.

“After we have sacrificed everything in the past three years, this will not happen at all, and we are the ones in charge here,” said al-Shahari in a statement to Russia’s news agency (Sputnik) on Tuesday.

Al-Shahari pointed out that handing over Hodeidah port means handing over the Yemeni people to Saudi Arabia and its allies.

“We can accept negotiations on a regulatory role of a neutral state providing that it does not intervene in managing the port,” he said.

He ruled out that the talks of President Mahdi al-Mashat with the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffith in Sanaa had dealt with handing over of Hodeidah port to the United Nations.

Al-Shahari said the UN envoy’s visit aimed to stop the war on Yemen through calling all parties to sit at one table, specifically in a neutral country did not participate in the war on Yemen and this is the only condition to start negotiations.

“Allowing some of the coalition forces to enter places close to Hodeidah port and the withdrawal of our forces was a military tactic,” said al-Shahari commenting on the Saudi-led coalition’s repeated announcement about its approaching the actual control of the port of Hodeidah.

He added that all the coalition troops, who carried out the entering process, were killed and their alleged victory turned into a defeat.
