Saudi Arabia intensifies military presence at Yemen’s border crossings with Oman

MAHRA, May 31 (YPA) – Saudi forces are continuing the establishment of camps on the coastal strip of Mahra province, eastern Yemen, since their arrival at Houf area, spokesman for the peaceful sit-in committee in Mahra, Ali Mubarak bin Mahamed, said on Monday.

In an interview with ‘Al-Mahariya’ TV, bin Mahamed confirmed the presence of the Saudi forces with large military equipment at Al-Ghaidha Airport, Nishtun Port, and at the border crossings with the Sultanate of Oman.

He explained that the role of “Hadi’s government” is shameful and disappointing for the people of Mahra province.

Bin Mahamed stressed that the people of the province reject the presence of any foreign forces and will continue the peaceful struggle until the departure of all foreign military forces.

He also called on Saudi Arabia to withdraw all its forces from Mahra and not to push the people of the province to other options that may have dire consequences.
