Head of sit-in opposing Saudi presence in Mahra dies

CAIRO, April 22 (YPA) – Head of the peaceful sit-in committee in Mahra province, Sheikh Amer Saad ‘Kalashat’, died on Thursday in the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

Sheikh Kalashat has led the movements against the Saudi-Emirati presence in the province, east of Yemen, since the entry of the Saudi forces in November 2017.

Kalashat is considered one of the most prominent political and tribal figures in Mahra, while the reasons behind his death were not mentioned.
