Coalition-backed leaders demand investigation into recent losses in western coast

SANAA, May 29 (YPA) – A number of southern leaders have suspended their duties in the coalition-backed military battles that taking place in the western coast fronts, in protest over recent losses in the battles, demanding investigations to reveal who helped caused the heavy casualties among their forces, said military sources.

The leaders accused Tarik, said the sources, however, there were no response yet from the coalition’s leadership.

On Sunday, Dozens of militants belonging to southern provinces and fighting alongside the coalition forces were killed, including the head of operations of the 3rd Brigade Amalikah, general Abdullah al-Awadli and a number of his companions in the battles.

The Yemeni army has seized control over Hiss district and other fronts of the coast, forcing forces of coalition-backed general Tarik to back off.

Earlier on the day, the military media for the Yemeni army published scenes showing dozens of southern militants and officers of the Saudi-led coalition forces killed in the recent battles in the western coast front-lines.

Monitors said the situation in the western coast do not allowing for more risks because of the recent major reinforcement by the army and popular forces that have been advancing towards the western coasts from many Yemeni provinces in response to a call by Sayyed Abdulmalik al-Houthi, the leader of the Yemeni revolution.
