Yemeni army thwarts coalition attacks in Hajjah

HAJJAH, March 12 (YPA) -Fierce clashes broke out on Thursday evening between Yemeni army and Saudi-led coalition forces in the border areas linking Hajjah province and with Saudi Arabia, military sources said.

According to the sources, the Yemeni army forces fought fierce battles during the past hours against coalition forces in the outskirts of Hiran district in Hajjah province, northwest Yemen.

The army forces were able to repel infiltration attempts carried out by the Saudi-led mercenaries towards the army’s locations in the same district. They also seized huge military equipment including military and armored and vehicles, the sources explained.

The official confirmed that coalition forces couldn’t make on progress towards Abs district and it is still in full control of the army forces.

Yemen Press Agency obtained preliminary photographs showing military vehicles seized by the army forces  in Hiran district.
