Egyptian official: Abiy Ahmed refuses any international mediation to solve Tigray crisis

SANAA, Nov. 26 (YPA) – Deputy Egyptian Council for African Affairs Salah Halima announced that the Ethiopian Prime Minister, Abiy Ahmed, refused any mediation from regional and international parties to solve the Tigray crisis.
In a statement, Halima said: “The state of South Africa, as the president of the current session of the African Union this year, has appointed three envoys to intervene as mediators in the crisis. .
He added: “What is happening now on the territory of the Tigray region in terms of war crimes and against humanity, is a clear violation of international humanitarian law,” pointing to the congruence of the Sudanese position with the Egyptians, as they are both countries of the mouth of the Nile River, regarding the Renaissance Dam crisis.
He said: “Ethiopia’s violation of all international agreements and conventions on the international law of rivers and the declaration of principles”, adding: ” What Ethiopia claims that the Nile is internal and not subject to international laws is a shame of truth, and it is not entitled to use the principle of sovereignty in this matter.”
