Russian officer, 4 emergency workers injured by mine explosion in Karabakh

SANAA, Nov. 24 (YPA) – An officer in Russian peacekeepers was injured in a mine explosion in Nagorno Karabakh region, while a soldier of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces was killed and four employees of the Ministry of Emergencies in the region were injured.
“A mine exploded in the Madagis area, resulting in the injury of a Russian peacekeeper, and a soldier of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces was killed and 4 employees of the Ministry of Emergencies were injured in Karabakh,” the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday, reported by Sputnik.

The statement added, “The injured were transferred to a hospital in Baku, where the necessary medical care is provided and there is no danger to their lives.”

On November 9, Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a ceasefire agreement in Nagorny Karabakh between the Armenian and Azerbaijani forces within the limits of their current locations, the deployment of Russian peacekeepers along the line of contact, the lifting of restrictions on movement, transit, and the exchange of prisoners between the two parties to the conflict and the return of displaced persons to Karabakh, under the auspices of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
