After UAE control over Socotra, Riyadh sends military reinforcements

SANAA, Nov. 9 (YPA) – Saudi Arabia pushed additional military reinforcements to the Yemeni island of Socotra, after the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) militia controlled over the island.

A local source told “Arabi 21” that Riyadh had pushed the reinforcements to its forces in Socotra a few days ago.

The source confirmed that the Kingdom’s moves in the island coincided with intense activities made by the UAE and its local agents on the island that they have controlled since last June.
According to the source, the leadership of the Saudi forces is coordinating the headquarters the STC militias.

The Emirati authorities sent several senior personalities from Socotra’s sons hold Emirati nationality, to visit and incite the local people to stand with the Emiratis forces in the province, in additional to giving lectures about the love of the Emirates.

The source stated that, in the past week, an Emirati ship arrived at the port of Houlaf without knowing its cargo.

On last June 19, the UAE-affiliated STC took control of Socotra province, amid widespread popular rejection.
