20 Pakistani soldiers killed in 2 separate attacks

ISLAMABAD, Oct. 15 (YPA) – At least 20 Pakistani soldiers from the army and paramilitary forces were killed on Thursday in two separate attacks in the country, Pakistani officials said.

Media wing of the Pakistani army said in a statement, “Six soldiers, including an officer, were killed in an attack targeting a convoy of security forces.”

The statement added that “the terrorists” used an improvised explosive device to target the convoy.

In another incident, at least 14 soldiers were killed when gunmen attacked security forces in Balochistan province, Sajad Hussain, a police spokesman in Quetta, told DPA.

The attack took place on the Makran Coastal highway in Gwadar area of the southwestern region, where unidentified gunmen attacked a convoy of border paramilitary forces.

No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attacks.
