Stifling oil derivatives crisis continues in Socotra

SANAA, Oct. 14 (YPA) – A crisis of stifling oil derivatives has continued in the Yemeni island of Socotra, stopping traffic in the archipelago’s streets, according to sources.

The sources affirmed that that an unprecedented crisis has caused increasing the suffering of citizens to travel among districts, without any signs of a breakthrough in the crisis.

The sources added that traffic in the streets stopped due to the running out of oil and diesel, noting that there are only UAE and Saudi cars in the streets of the UAE-backed southern Transitional Council (STC)-held island.

At the beginning of this year, the STC militia have taken control of Socotra province after fierce confrontations with Islah Party militia affiliated with Saudi Arabia.
