Report: Latest development of battlefields in Marib

MARIB, Oct. 6 (YPA) – Fierce fighting has been going on for two days between Yemeni army forces backed by popular committees, and Saudi-led coalition forces on the front lines, southwest of Marib province.

The rapid field achievements made by the Yemeni army forces and popular committees in the front lines of southern Marib province revealed that the coalition’s countries suffer large deficit and have no capabilities to stop the rapid advance of the army forces towards Marib city.

Forces loyal to Ansarullah were able to take control over several directorates within a few hours, despite the intensive airstrikes cover that back the coalition forces.

According to local sources in Marib province, Yemeni army forces and popular committees managed in the past hours to thwart several coalition forces, and made significant progress in front lines, southwest of the  province, amid major collapses in the ranks of the coalition forces.

The sources said that Yemeni army forces carried out a successful counterattack  tactic in which they managed to thwart  several infiltration attempts by the coalition forces towards areas that fell under the control of Sana’a forces during the past two days.

Moreover, the sources pointed out that the army forces advanced after defeating the coalition forces towards the Aqabat Samira and Hid Al Ahmed areas  in Jabal Murad directorate, where there are fierce fighting between the two sides.

The coalition forces suffered heavy losses as a result of a failed military tactic they carried out during their attempts to retake the areas that had fallen during the past hours in the grip of the army and the popular committees in the strategic ‘Alfa’ area and Al-Ahdhan Mountain between Al-Jouba and Rahbah districts, according to the local sources.
