Saudi occupation forces begin to establish military base in Hof nature reserve

MAHRAH, Oct. 5 (YPA) – Saudi occupation forces have begun new arrangements to establish a military base in the most important nature reserve Yemen’s province of Mahrah, on the border with Oman.

This was reported by Yemen News Portal, based on tribal sources on Monday.

The sources said Saudi Arabia is pushing  military mechanisms and has already begun to set up military barracks in the Hof reserve, which is the most important source of grazing in the tribal community in  the province.

The militarization of the reserve is meant to cut another source of income for the Mahri community, which is mostly dependent on the grazing of the  cows and camels.

This will also add new burdens to the residents of the province  after the militarization of The Yemeni coast and land ports bordering Oman.

The Saudi moves come amid reports of pressure on Hadi, who is expected to be removed from the scene to sign agreements, including military facilities, a long-term presence in Mahrah, Socotra and the west coast of Yemen.
