Islah militias in Marib sell Yemeni prisoners to Saudi Arabia

MARIB, Oct. 2 (YPA) – Hadi forces and Islah militants handed over 230 prisoners of the Yemeni army and popular committees to Saudi forces in exchange for the release of Saudi and Sudanese prisoners.

Ali bin Mohsen Salah, one of the so-called Staff General officers of the Hadi government forces, said in a post on “Facebook” on  Wednesday, Saghir bin Aziz sold 230 “Houthi prisoners”  from Marib prisons after he received orders from the UAE to hand them to the Saudis to exchange 15 prisoners of the Saudi army, and four Sudanese, according to the agreement reached in Montreux negotiations.

Salah said Saudi Arabia transported the prisoners a military transport plane from the  coalition camp in Marib province to the Khamis Mushayt airbase.

On October 13, 2018, al-Islah militias sold captured Yemeni prisoners in Marib and Bayda to Saudi Arabia, who replaced them with Saudi prisoners on November 28, 2019, as part of a prisoner exchange deal.
