Al-Houthi expresses his hope that UN will move in right direction

SANAA, Sep. 26 (YPA) – The Supreme Political Council’s member, Mohammed Ali al-Houthi, has expressed his hope that the United Nations would change its approach and move in the right direction, and not make what Saudi-led coalition states decide a focus of discussion that cannot be undone.

In his response to the questions of the British journalist and member of the International Crisis Group, Peter Salisbury, al-Houthi explained that the intervention of America, Saudi Arabia, Britain, the UAE and the allied countries had caused the killing and targeting of the Yemeni people, the destruction of their facilities and infrastructure, and their reaching the point of famine and the failure to reach an agreement.

He added, “The diplomatic solution is what we constantly demand, and we demanded in the National Dialogue Conference.. If foreign interference stopped, we would have reached solutions before a drop of blood fell.”

The Political Council’s member indicated that the United Nations is looking for how to satisfy the coalition countries by adopting all that those countries submit to it, while not accepting any proposals submitted by the national authority in Sanaa.

“For this, we presented a comprehensive solution document that contains equitable solutions for all Yemenis,” al-Houthi said. “They are not incapacitating solutions, but rather they demand the minimum number of solutions that must be implemented for the sake of the Yemeni people and in order to stop the aggression.”

In response to a question regarding the joint declaration of the UN envoy, he said, “We made proposals on the joint declaration, but they were not taken.”

Al-Houthi called on the United Nations to be neutral and not to depend on the team that was working with the former envoy Ould Sheikh, as well as not to adopt the mechanism that he was working with and that led to failure. “We advised the current envoy to do so, but he continued with that mechanism and did not come out so far with a result.”

He reiterated the call for the formation of investigative committees into the crimes committed against civilians from the people of the Republic of Yemen, including those recognized and clear massacres.

Regarding communication with the tribes in Marib and elsewhere, the Political Council’s member stated that the communication is going on so that blood is not shed and the Republic of Yemen is preserved.

In this regard, he explained that the National Reconciliation Team was established by a decision of the Supreme Political Council, under which large groups of members of other Yemeni tribes moved and communicated with their brothers from the Marib tribes and others, and that what is happening.
