Iran warns of Saudi nuclear activities

TEHRAN, Sep. 19 (YPA) – Iran’s permanent representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Kazem Gharibabadi, said on Saturday that Saudi Arabia is following the same path followed by Israel in its nuclear activities.

During a speech he delivered at the meeting of the IAEA’s Board of Governors, Gharibabadi expressed his concern about Saudi Arabia’s failure to implement the full ‘Comprehensive Safeguards Agreement’ and the silence of some of the plaintiff countries, calling for the disclosure of some of Saudi Arabia’s secret nuclear activities.

The Iranian official called on the IAEA and the board of governors to ensure that Saudi Arabia fulfills its obligations under the safeguards agreement.

He added, “Despite repeated requests from the IAEA, as long as Riyadh does not cancel its current small volumes protocol, verification tools will not be provided to implement the agency’s mission to confirm their credibility.”
