YPC refutes allegations of UN Envoy, OCHA regarding oil derivative vessels

SANAA, Sep. 14 (YPA) – The Yemeni Petroleum Company (YPC) on Sunday refuted allegations of the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths in his briefings to the UN Security Council and UN’s OCHA regarding the quantities of oil derivatives released by Saudi-led coalition.

“The total released quantities of diesel and gasoline during the past three months amounted to 139,000 tons,” YPC’s executive director, Engineer Ammar al-Adhra’i, said.

These quantities represent only 15 per cent of the actual need in the normal situation, and not as stated in the OCHA report that they represent the third, since the rest of the released ships belong to the private sector factories, al-Adhra’i added.

“The percentage of released quantities of gasoline and diesel within 110 days since late May represent 11 percent of the actual need from diesel and 20 percent of the actual need from gasoline,” he explained.

He referred that ‘the aggression coalition’ is still holding 19 oil ships, including two ships carrying mazut, two ships carrying domestic gas, and 15 ships carrying 409,55 tons of gasoline and diesel.

The coalition, led by Saudi Arabia and the UAE, has tended to escalate its economic war and pressure with the land, sea and air blockade paper, in an attempt to impose its dictates and its agenda that it sought to achieve through its continuous war on Yemen since 2015.
