FM calls on Russia to make more efforts to stop war on Yemen

SANAA, Sept. 9 (YPA) – Foreign Minister Hisham Sharaf on Wednesday called on the Russian Federation to make more efforts to stop the war and lift the siege imposed on the Yemeni people for the sixth consecutive year in order to reach a political settlement.

This came in a congratulatory cable sent by Sharaf to Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Russian poet and writer Leo Tolstoy, who is classified as one of the of the five great BRICS teachers.

The Foreign Minister indicated that Tolstoy’s works have called for spreading peace and rejecting wars and violence in the world.
